Solidification
Our Chemical Fixation or Solidification/Stabilization
Process alters substances by a combination of changes in chemical composition
and physical characteristics. The immobilizing matrix produced presents
both chemical and physical barriers to the leaching of contaminants due
to precipitation and/or ground water flow. The process is specifically
designed for treatment of in-place contaminated subsurface soils and wastes.
Our process involves mixing fixative reagent(s) contained in a pozzolanic
slurry with the hazardous substances and can render them non-hazardous,
chemically inert and mechanically/physically stable. The resultant product
possesses chemical and physical properties, which differ drastically from
those of the parent waste.
